Hip hop studio acknowledges the invaluable role the culture of hip-hop played in positively influencing his life, offering him a path to refine his skills, act as a contributor to culture, and engage the community. The Hip-Hop school within Break Free Community Center stems from the idea that hip-hop is educational, and can be used not only to instruct children on art forms, but significant life skills as well, leading children to cultivate a productive,

Hip hop developed from several cultures, including Jazz, Rock, Tap, American and Latino cultures. Hip hop is unique in that it allows its dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities.

These classes are divided into age groups and are for those dancers new to Hip Hop and Street Dance including Popping, Locking, Breaking, Krump and House. This program introduces dancers to the fundamental techniques and foundations of all the styles and develops a dancers musicality, coordination, confidence &performance skills and ability to pick up choreography. Classes are 1 hour once a week and the dancers will perform in our year end Showcase in June. Sometimes some of the recreational classes have the opportunity to perform at Community events or in flash mobs. These classes have been specifically designed for students who have already attended JHHA classes in our recreational program for two years. Students will advance and build their knowledge in Hip Hop and Street Dance and will be challenged by taking on more intricate choreography and focusing on building on their foundations
